Volunteering

Want to get more involved with our markets?  We love volunteers!  Currently, we are seeking help with the following positions:

Grant Park Volunteer Coordinator: 10 hours / wk

  • Schedule volunteers and remind
  • Need to be present at most Sunday Markets
  • Manage day-of and special events volunteers
  • Admin / coordination / scheduling abilities critical
  • Friendly

 

CFM Administrative Intern: 5 hrs/ wk

  • Token counting
  • Receipts
  • Data entry
  • Copying / scanning documentation
  • Filing
  • Would be ideal for accounting / business major
  • CFM note: need office first….

 

CFM Art / Music Coordinator: 2-5 hrs / wk

  • Research, schedule and promote musicians
  • Research, schedule and promote artists
  • Coordinate with musicians / artists for needs – and acquire supplies
  • Print materials as needed
  • Coordinate with market staff re: stipends / gifts / food baskets
  • Need to have good connections and interest in this area

 

Grant Park Chef Demo Assistant: 4hrs/ wk

  • Needs to be present at Market (can be several people rotating)
  • Verify chef demo area set up properly and is free of debris / smells·
  • Welcome Chefs, familiarize with demo area, ask if need water of coffee and give tour of market if they would like ·
  • Give chefs tokens and the vendor signs to pass out to vendors when they purchase items·
  • Check in with Chef as the set-up and help as needed·
  • Notify manager when chef ready for demo·
  • Set-up flip camera and verify on·
  • Help prepare and pass out samples ·
  • Pass out samples to all vendors·
  • Clean up and help Chef carry items to car (or ask Market assistant to help)·
  • Help Chef with other tasks as needed

Ongoing Needs:

  • Photographers
  • Food bloggers
  • Designers – marketing materials
  • Artists / Painters – site beautification / signs
  • Community outreach (spec to low income community groups that use WIC / SNAP)
  • Speakers / Educators: professional gardeners, farmers, educators, specialists ($ available)
  • Chefs / nutritionist / gardeners for outreach ($ available)
  • Fundraisers
  • “Small Mart Greeters” – 2.5 hrs / wk
  • Set-Up / Clean-up helpers – 1 hr / wk
